Jen + Tyler | Ariel International Wedding

I hardly know where to start with Jen + Tyler's wedding. They had their dogs, their motorcycle, a Star Wars theme, a rooftop ceremony...it was basically the most badass wedding day ever. Their wedding choices aside, Jen + Tyler are the coolest kids on the block...if you're like us and you're into video games, comics and Star Wars, you'd agree!
Their day was SO emotional and so special to watch. Their friends and families poured their hearts into their parts of the day and it was so obvious (as you will see below) that these two really honed in on celebrating this day their own way and making sure it was special.

Rachel + Brian | October Backyard Wedding

As I sit in this Starbucks trying to drown out all the noise; the metal cups bashing the ice, the chairs scooting across the floor, the baristas enthusiastically bellowing names of people and sentence-long names of drinks, the vibration of music playing...I can't even put words to this story. This environment is too mundane for the level of spirit and emotion in this love story.
This story doesn't even need words, really.
Rachel & Brian were really connected, really emotional, really in love and really expressive of their gratitude for everyone surrounding them. See for yourself. It was one for the books.

Ashley + Zach | Northern Michigan Wedding

You may recognize these two from the recent adventure we had with them in Colorado a week before their wedding! We shared a sunset hike in the Rockies and a week later we shared a Sand Dune hike in Upper Michigan. What is this life?

Well, I had the hardest time not selecting a thousand beautiful moments to share from Ashley + Zach's Northern Michigan wedding. Not only was the destination and the wedding absolutely stunning but these two are genuinely the sweetest and happiest people I think I've ever met. Zach's love for Ashley was SO apparent in his mood that day. Between their shared glances and constant smiles, everyone who witnessed these two that day was sincerely intoxicated by the joy they share in their adoration for each other. This is one we'll remember for a long time.

Gail + Toby | Honey Run Falls Session

We met Gail and Tobias at the trail head, just a few feet from a little stream and a 25 foot waterfall. A place none of us had ever been. We got to know each other briefly as we sat on top of a big boulder. They sank in to the cool breeze, only noticing each other, quietly and affectionately while we watched the light drape itself, like ribbons of white chocolate, over everything. Gail + Toby have this slow and quiet way about their love. They were a joy to explore with, to have conversation with and a dream to photograph. Check out the video of this session here.

Seneca Rocks, West Virginia

We just wanted to get away. We watched the weather for weeks leading up to "spring" break. Low 40's and high 30's. A few hours south the forecast was a bit warmer so we looked for the nearest mountain, we loaded up the car, we packed a cooler and we got away.
The tee-pee was too cold to sleep on the ground and we didn't bring sleeping pads, so we slept in the Jeep. Waking up to fog bellowing out of the mountain canyon and the smell of pressed coffee has got to be one of the best feelings in the world. We met a dog at the Harper's general store who ended up following us all the way to the top of Seneca Rocks. We made friends with a cardinal that kept tapping it's wings on the windows as we slept. We discovered that some of my ancestors might have been early settlers of the area. We sat on the edge and climbed farther than you're supposed to. We drove into  two feet of snow at the top of Spruce Knob and had to make a scary turn-around. We ate pie at a diner where we were the only customers.  That's what adventures are all about...the unexpectedness of it all.
