Salona + Ed | Cleveland Flats Cocktail Party Wedding

Salona + Ed came to me a few weeks before their courthouse wedding, at the time, the COVID restrictions were still in place so there were no extra people allowed in during the ceremony. I’m so glad these two decided to honor the day with portraits afterward and of their cocktail wedding party! Salona shared with me that this was the first event for them and most of their friends attending, so it felt really-extra special to be able to gather in such a lovely space, on such a lovely evening for what she called “the happiest day ever”.

What a way to ease into the craziness of 2021 with these two gorgeous humans!

Also, we haven’t been to Cleveland in so long, what a lively and beautiful spot on the water in the Flats…this day was literally perfect!

Sophia + Luai | Ketubah Ceremony

Sophia + Luai married twice, with intimate ceremonies honoring their Sudanese/Jewish traditions. I was honored to be present for their Shaker Heights Ketubah ceremony to start off our 2021 season!

I have to say, after a decade of big weddings and traditions, it’s so nice to slow it down. To document couples who are choosing to spend their wedding days together, with an intimate group of their loved ones, having foyer first looks and portraits in the front yard gives these photos so much meaning!

Congratulations Sophia + Luai, your futures will be bright!

Alivia + Jordan | Winter Wedding

You may remember these two from their awesome engagement adventure we shot last Spring. Jordan + Alivia are just two of the coolest people. It was an honor to document this day for them, Jordan's mom has been a mentor of mine since high school and both of their families are literally the sweetest!

They got married in January, at a beautiful church downtown and the snowflakes showed up just to make everything more beautiful. The reception was hosted by Jordan's family at their family-operated restaurant, Tozzi's on 12th, a local legend for the best Italian food ever! So many personal moments and details went into their traditional wedding making it one of our favorites! What a way to start 2016!

Jessica + James | Winter Wedding at Squire's Castle

Simple + perfect. That was James and Jessica's wedding. Surrounded by only their families and their closest friends, James and Jessica promised their hearts to each other while giant snow flakes floated through the air. They gathered around the fire at The Woods restaurant and toasted to love and danced into the night. We loved how romantic and effortless the whole day was, just them and their families and their love to keep them warm!

Meadow Ridge Farm Wedding - Carly + Cody

Carly and Cody were our first wedding of 2020. After months of back and forth and pivoting plans to account for safety restrictions and mask mandates, finally, their wedding day came and it was full of laughter and joy in all the spaces where people would have been.

The guest list was cut drastically, down to only their immediate family, but it didn’t feel small with these two so full of big love for each other and their people.

Working with Carly and Cody leading up to this beautiful day was so special. We shared many calm brainstorming sessions over the phone hashing out workaround after workaround to ensure safety, beauty, and meaning were all at the forefront of this celebration. I can’t thank you two enough for the compassion and flexibility, and your calm energy overall.

I would be remiss if I didn’t express an abundance of gratitude to our team this year for stepping up, for taking the lead on weddings when we weren’t able to and for being all-around amazingly selfless people AND awesome photographers, we love you guys!

Gordon Square - Caroline + Jesse Married

Caroline and Jesse were planning to have their wedding celebration on June 6, 2020. But this year had other plans for them! Taking each change in stride, these two pivoted their plans in a global pandemic and altered everything to keep their love and marriage at the center.

These last few weeks have been historically transformative for the world. The Black Lives Matter movement and protests against police brutality have taken a priority for us. And while muting our work and life to amplify the Black community's voices is vital right now, we are also doing the non-performative work behind the scenes to be better white allies.

Small Wedding Inspiration | Hannah + Ben - Hocking Hills, Ohio

Small weddings don't have to mean 'less.' We've photographed a good handful of smaller, more intimate ceremonies and gatherings, and we always feel like they're more rather than less. There is more time, more purpose, more intention, more meaning.

One of our favorite little ceremonies took place in the woods at dusk. Hannah and Ben invited about 15 of their family and closest friends to a big cabin in Hocking Hills.
