Stephen Tornero

Textile & weaving artist portraits

There’s something truly special about capturing artists and makers in their creative spaces. Their studios are often a reflection of their process — colorful, layered, and full of stories. For this project, I had the privilege of documenting my friend and amazing artist, Stephen Tornero in his vibrant studio, surrounded by the tools, textures, and works-in-progress that bring his vision to life.

I’m drawn to documentary photography of people in their element because it offers a glimpse into something deeply personal. The way an artist moves through their space, the marks of past projects on their walls, and the way light spills over their work — it all tells a story. Capturing those authentic moments allows me to celebrate not just the finished art, but the beauty of the creative process itself.

This series is a tribute to the energy, passion, and individuality that artists pour into their work. It’s a reminder that every brushstroke and every color choice has its own narrative. Through my lens, I aim to honor that spirit and share the inspiring world of makers with others.
